About Us

The mechanical contracting industry is responsible for installing the heating and air conditioning, piping and plumbing systems in constructed projects. Without these elements, they would be without interior climate control, water supply and waste removal systems essential to modern society.

The mechanical contracting industry functions through a group of individual, independent contracting firms. These firms competitively make offers to owners, builders or government authorities to install mechanical systems for a given project at a specified price and within a specified time. Successful bidding requires a team of highly skilled and productive individuals.

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Georgia (MCAG) is one of the oldest organizations in Georgia representing the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and plumbing industry and it is certainly the most respected. Its members are among the best firms in the industry. They deliver cost-effective, timely results and stay abreast of leading-edge industry practices.

The MCAG is considered the “Spokesman for the Mechanical Industry” in Georgia. Many of our members sit on the Georgia State Licensing Board, the Georgia State Code Advisory Committee, Project Safe Georgia and Mid South Business Roundtable along with many other committees in representing mechanical contractors’ interest.

It is MCAG’s mission to help service the business needs of its members in every way. Perhaps the MCAG’s most important, and visible, function is in the area of labor relations. Contractor members of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Georgia have labor agreements with the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters assuring MCAG contractors an unlimited supply of the world’s best-trained journeymen and apprentices. Labor agreements are negotiated with the goal of providing fair compensation to employees while allowing the contractors to be competitive in our markets.
